Bhadraji back on stage – Sep. 08, 2012

Award winning artiste, Bhadraji Mahinda Jayatilake, who resides in California, USA is now in Sri Lanka to perform at his solo concert – ‘Bhadraji Gee Sendewa’.

‘Bhadraji Gee Sendewa’, a solo concert of veteran award winning artiste, Bhadraji Mahinda Jayatilake will be held on 8 September at 2.30 pm. at the ‘Sumedha Rangahala’ located in Nawaloka Youth Development Centre in Gampaha.
At this concert, Bhadraji will perform many of his original compositions in inimitable singing style and musical lovers will get the chance to listen to his top hits like ‘Battiththa’, ‘Api Raga Wayanawa’, ‘Dewata Aine’, etc.

Young talented musician of the new generation, Rukshan Karunnayake will be the music director of the concert and his band ‘Chimes of The 70’s’ will be musically accompanying the evening. In addition to Bhadraji, Channa Kasturisinghe, Sujith Kapurubandara and Dhanusha Kularatne will assist in singing at the concert.

Indrasiri Suraweera and Thilini Athukorala will be the hosts for the evening. ‘Bhadraji Gee Sendewa’ is organized by Kanthi Wickramanayake in aid of Suhada Rehabilitation Centre managed by Sunethra Weerasinghe.

The tickets for the concert are priced at Rs. 1000/-, 500/-, 300/- and are available at The First Choice, Minsara Bookshop and at the gate.

The latest album of Bhadraji titled ‘Gamen Aa Kelle’ will be ceremonially launched at the concert. The album is a production of M Entertainment. Rukshan Karunanayake and late Shantha Gunaratne has directed music for the album. Bhadraji Mahinda Jayatilake and Thalatha Senapathi have penned lyrics for the album. ‘Gamen Aa Kelle’ album feature 12 Sinhala songs, one English song a Hindi song. Keshini Fernando and Vimani Kapurubandara have sung duets with Bhadraji for this album. His evergreen hit ‘Battiththa’ has been remixed for this album under the music directions of Rukshan.
